Roy Danks, DO, FACOS

Association of Surgical Education: Ethics of Surgery Fellow

Roy Danks, DO, FACOS is a board-certified general surgeon at Southern Illinois Healthcare. Dr. Danks completed his undergraduate education at Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas. Following this, he attended and graduated from Kansas City University (College of Osteopathic Medicine) in 1998. He then completed his internship at Riverside Health System (Wichita, Kansas) and residency in General Surgery at Northeast Regional Medical Center (Kirksville, Missouri). His fellowship training is in burn surgery and surgical critical care. He completed the burn/critical care fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (Iowa City) in 2002. He is the Medical Director for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at SIH.

Dr. Danks is a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he serves as both a general/trauma and burn surgeon as well as an Aeromedical Medicine Specialist (Flight Surgeon).
